The real depth is the actual depth of a substance....and in simple words apparent depth is the unreal depth...the apparent depth seems to be less or more dipper thn the actual depth due to a phenomena called refraction...for example place a coin under a glass and look inside the glass ...the coin would be visible at its actual depth but when water is poured into the glass the coin seems to be raised frm its position which is called apparent depth...due to refraction.....hope ur doubt is cleared frnd....have a nice day buddy?????
