Quotient = 2x - 5, remainder = -5

Verification:

It can be seen that:

(x + 3) (2x - 5) - 5 = 2x2 + 6x - 5x - 15 - 5 = 2x+ x - 20

Dividend= Divisor x Quotient + Remainder

Hence, the division algorithm is verified.
