There are two types of reflection, Regular reflection Diffused reflection. Regular reflection: Parallel beam of light hits the reflecting surface and reflects parallely in same direction. Takes place in smooth and highly polished surfaces. Image is formed in this type of reflection. Ex : Reflection on a plane mirror . Diffused reflection: Parallel beam of light hits the reflecting surface and reflects irregularly in different direction. Takes place in rough surfaces . Image is not formed in this type of reflection. Ex : Reflection on a wooden surface
