A Bill is the draft of a legislative proposal. It has to pass through various stages before it becomes an Act of Parliament. The stages are:
The Bill is to pass through so many stages before it becomes a Law. The Bill is discussed & debated thoroughly in these stages.
Introduction of the Bill, First reading, Select Committee, Second Reading, Third Reading, Bill in the second House, Assent of the President.
After the Bill is passed by both the Houses it is sent to the President for his assent. The Bill becomes an Act when the President gives his assent to it.
