3x+2y=11
2x+3y=4
by adding them
5x+5y=15
x+y=3
x=3-y
put the value of x
3x+2y=11
3(3-y)+2y=11
9-3y+2y=11
9-y=11
-y=11-9
-y=2
y=-2
put the value of y
x=3-y
x=3-(-2)
x=3+2
x=5
hence x=5 and y=-2
