Let the cost of 1 table is x ∴ cost of 3 table is 3x
Let the cost of 1 chair is y ∴ cost of 2 chairs is 2y
According to the question total cost of 3 tables and 2 chairs is 1850 .
∴ 3x+2y=1850 ________(1)
and x=75+y (_______(2) (Since in question it is given that cost of table is 75 more than chair )
Solving equation (1) and (2) simultaneously
3x+2y=1850 __(1)
x-y=75 _(2)
Multiplying equation (2) by 2
we get 2x-2y=150 _(3)
Adding (1) and (3)
we get 5x=2000
∴x=400 therefore cost of one table is Rs 400
substituting the value of x in (2) we get 400-y=75
∴y=400-75= 325
therefore cost 1 chair is Rs 325
