X+y=7-------(1) 5x+12y=7-------(2) From equation (1) -----> X+y=7 =X=7-y Substitute equation (1) in equation (2) =5(7-y)+12y=7 =35 - 5y + 12y = 7 7y = 7 - 35 7y = -28 Y= -28/7 Y= -4 Substitute y= -4 in equation (1) X+(-4) =7 X -4 =7 X=7+4 X=11 X=(11) and y=(-4)
