Let AB be the pole and BC be its shadow.

Given that AB/BC = 1/√3

Let ACB be the angle of elevation.

In triangle ABC,

X is equal to theta

tan x = AB/BC

tan x = 1/√3

tan x = tan 30

X = 30

Hence angle of elevation =30∘
