Given that cubic polynomial,

x³-3x²+x+1

then,

(a-b)+a+(a+b)=-b/a

3a=-(-3)/1

3a=3

a=3/3

a=1

Again,

(a-b)*a*(a+b)=-d/a

a(a²-b²)=-1/1

1(1²-b²=-1

1-b²=-1

-b²=-1-1

-b²=-2

b±2

b=±√2

that

a=1

b=√2
