Solar cookers are blackened from inside because black absorbs more heat from sun as compared to other colours. EXPLANATION: When more heat is absorbed by the blackened interiors, the food is cooked faster as more heat is absorbed inside the cooker. ... The purpose of blackening the interior of a solar cooker is that the black surface absorbs more heat radiations of incident solar energy (about 98%) as compare to white or other light coloured surface.
