Road transport operating cost is cheaper than Rail transport.
Road transport is easy to access in hilly areas. It's easy to carry goods to hilly areas by roads.
Construction and maintenance cost is less in road transport.
Road transport is better to transport goods for short distance.
Road transport delivers goods and people at door.

(ii) Roads can traverse comparatively more dissected and undulating topography. (iii) Roads can negotiate higher gradients of slopes and as such can traverse mountains such as the Himalayas. (iv) Road transport is economical in transportation of few persons and relatively smaller amount of goods over short distances.
