In this process, a charged object is brought near but not touched to a neutral conducting object. The presence of a charged object near a neutral conductor will induce (force) electrons within the conductor to move. Induction charging is a method used to charge an object without actually touching the object to any other charged object. An understanding of charging by induction requires an understanding of the nature of a conductor and an understanding of the polarization process.
