The city of Brussels, the capital of Belgium, has a separate government from the national government. Both the Dutch and French speaking communities have equal representation in this government. The French speaking people, who are in majority in the city, have accepted equal representation in Brussels because the Dutch speaking people have accepted equal representation in the Central Government.
