Medieval period or the middle age began from 5th century and ended in 15th century in the west and for India it was from 8th to 18th century. This happened because the Gupta empire collapsed. Thus, ending the "period of ancient India" and the beginning of a period in which the rulers focused on themselves only. Medieval period is an important period in the history of India because of the developments in the field of art and languages, culture and religion. Also the period has witnessed the impact of other religions on the Indian culture. Beginning of Medieval period is marked by the rise of the Rajput clan. Mediaeval period of history is an important era for the development in the field of art,language,culture and religion. It was from 550 AD to the 18th century when the Mughal empire had broken.
