The use of bifocal lens is to correct the defect of both myopia and hypermetropia as the lens consists of both concave and convex lens. ?

Bifocal lenses are used in the spectacles of people suffering from presbyopia, myopia, hyperopia or/and astigmatism.

These have two distinct powers and hence serves two functions. One is distant vision and the other is closeup vision.

The lens is divided into two parts with the topmost portion serving the purpose of distant vision whereas the lower part helping the closeup vision.
