If we prove that image distance (v) is greater than centre of curvature, then the image lies between infinity and centre of curvature. To prove=v>2a Let the focus be a Centre of curvature=2f=2a Object distance=u Image distance=v Magnification=h'/h=-v/u We know that image become enlarged when it is kept between focus and curvature. Magnification>1----------------(1) From mirror formula, 1/f=1/v+1/u -1/a=-1/v+(-1/u)(v,u and f are negative according to convention rules) 1/a=1/v+1/u 1/a=u+v/vu vu=av+au v=av+au/u v=a(v/u+1) v>a(1+1) {using (1)} v>2a Hence, image of object lies between infinity and centre of curvature.
