By using mirror formula, 1/f=1/v+1/u 1/-15=1/v+1/-20 1/v=1/-15-(1/-20) 1/v=-1/15+1/20 1/v=-4/60+3/60 1/v=(-4+3)/60 1/v=-1/60 v=-60 cm Magnification =-v/u =-(-60)/-20 =60/-20 =-3 ....minus sign states that the image formed is smaller than the object. Height of image /Height of object =magnification Height of image=magnification *Height of object Height of image =3 *10 ...no need to take minus sign as it only shows that image is smaller =30 cm
