When gypsum salt is heated at 373 K or 100°C plaster of paris is formed
CaSO₄ . 2H₂O ⇒CaSO₄ . ¹/₂ H₂O + 1 ¹/₂ H₂O at 100°C
plaster of paris chemical name is calcium sulphate hemihydrate
it is used in plastering the broken bones
