In the poem ‘How to Tell the Wild Animals’ by Carolyn Wells, the poet explicitly narrates the various wild animals in forests of the East. She describes each animal by its appearance and habits so that a person can easily distinguish it.
She begins the poem with the Asian lion. The Asian lion is huge and beastly. It has a tawny skin which is its most distinctive feature. It also has a loud roar that distinguishes it from other animals and uses it to scare the life out its prey ensuring that the frightened person dies.
