Combination Reaction: When two or more substances combine to form a single product, the reaction is known as a combination reaction. This reaction is also called addition reaction.

For example: In the laboratory, iron sulphide is prepared by mixing iron and sulphur.

  1. Fe(s)     +S(s) -  FeS(s)
  2. 2Mg (s)    +   O2  -    2MgO (s)

Magnesium     +    Oxygen          -            Magnesium Oxide
