Extra glucose in the body is converted into glycogen(a complex carbohydrate like starch)and stored in the liver(a small amount is stored in the muscles as well). This glycogen is converted to glucose when blood glucose level falls. This process helps us to maintain blood sugar levels in between meals.  Sorry but i don't know about carbohydrates.
