When the charges are kept in vacuum at a distance r,>>>>>Force F=kq1q2/r^2 where k=1/4π *epsilon not.Let this be equation 1>>>>>>When force is 8F,let distance between the charges be r".
Therefore,Force 8F=kq1q2/r"^2. Let this be equation 2.>>>>>>> Now 1/2 gives,------>1/8=r"^2/r^2 and hence r"=r/2√2-----(taking square root on both sides)
