Joule's law of heating.
The amount of heat produced is  proportional to

  1. electrical resistance when the current in the circuit and the flow of current is constant
  2. the square of the current flow through the circuit when the electrical resistance and current supply is constant.
  3. the time of flow when the resistance and current flow is kept constant.

The relationship between heat produced by  flowing current through a conductor is given by:

{tex} Q = i^2 R T {/tex}

Where,

Q - the amount of heat
i - electric current
R - amount of electric resistance in the conductor
T - time
