When a charge is placed on one of the corners of a cube,we need to consider a gaussian surface which completely encloses the charge in order to find the flux through the cube.So to enclose this charge at the corner,we need to place 8 cubes(7 cubes+ the first cube where the charge is placed) which are identical to the first one. • From gauss's law, Flux inside the big cube=q/epsilon not. Hence for 8 cubes the flux is given, therefore for a single cube flux=q/8*epsilon not.
