Its just like your resistances ....where in series current in each resistance is same ....in capacitors in series charge on each cap is same....in parallel connection if the cap have same capacitance then each will have same charge as voltage is same for all....and the net charge of circuit will be sum of all charges ....but if variable capacitors are used then charge will get distributed in direct ratio of capacitance

Sorry my question was not clear I guess. What I asked was about capacitors connected in parallel in a circuit.Why is the charge variable in different capacitors connected in parallel to an external circuit? If the capacitors are identical,what would be the charge distribution? I hope you understood the question.

Charging of capacitor takes time , so in initial state it is charged zero while at steady state it is fully charged. Is this what you were asking? I didnt understand your ques properly.
