The equation in which there is unequal numbers of atom on both sides i.e., reactants and products are known as skeletal equation. It is also known as unbalanced equation. Example: Magnesium + Oxygen ------> Magnesium oxide Mg + O2------>MgO. ( Skeletal equation)
