In eq 1 x+y=2 x=2-y Similarly in eq 2 x= (1+y)/2 Therefore 2-y=(1+y)/2 4-2y=1+y Cross multiplication..... 3y=3 y=1 Therefore x=2-y x=2-1 x=1 y=1 --------------------------------- Hope it helps...
