    Let assume that a and b is co prime no. such that b=not 0 Root 5 = a/b b root 5 =a Both sides square (b root 5)² = (a) 5b² =a² Since, 5 is divisible by a² and also divisible by a According to theorem 1.3 Let b = c is any integer Substituting the value a =5c 5b² =(c)² 5b² =c² Since, 5is divisible by c² and also c But contradiction fact that root 5 is irrational So root 5 is irrational
