To represent root 2 on real number line Firstly we find the hypotenuse by PYTHAGORAS THEOREM. Such as, hypotenuse =root under( base)^2+(perpendicular )^2 PERPENDICULARL means height. Now, Base=1unit and height=1 unit So, hypotenuse =root under( 1)^2+(1)^2 gives root under ( 1+1)=root under 2 AGAIN, WE WILL DRAW A HORIZONTAL LINE AND TAKE 1 UNIT FROM CENTER 0 AND 1 UNIT FROM 1 PERPENDICULAR AND AGAIN MATCH OB THAT FORMS HYPOTENUSE AND THE WE WILL TAKE COMPASS AND KEEP ON CENTER 0 TO POINT B THAT IS HYPOTENUSE AND DRAW AN ARC.
