Large animals have advanced respiratory system that allows them to take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide.
Lungs are usually present in such animals where the exchange of gases takes place.
Blood carries oxygen from the lungs to every cell of the body and then takes carbon dioxide from cells back to lungs.
The arrangement in the bodies of large animals to meet oxygen requirement is a respiratory pigment in the blood called hemoglobin.
