Characteristics of power sharing are:

• Power sharing is a system of governance where all the communities in the society participate in the policy making. In power sharing, the majority cannot impose its will over the minority communities.

This is the essence of power sharing which grants equal rights to each citizen and attempts to reduce the possibility of social friction and unrest among communities through peaceful solution of conflicts.
