A desert is an arid region which is mainly consist of vegetation of sand. It is a region where there is a lot of scarcity of water. Hence, deserts are sparsely populated. Some known deserts of the world are the world's largest desert-sahara desert(africa), the great indian desert-thar desert(india), the coldest desert-gobi desert(asia) and the ladakh desert which is situated in the eastern part of state of Jammu and kashmir in india.the animals found in deserts are lizards, the ship of the desert-camel, jackrabbits, and the plants that are commonly found here are cactus plants which stores water in them. They are generally dry. All the annual rainfall in the deserts occur in the form of heavy showers. The rest of the year is dry, and there may be no rain for several years. Generally, like in sahara and ladakh deserts, human habitation is not possible due to scarcity of water and the natural conditions are not ideal for human habitation. During day, deserts are very hot and during night, deserts are very cold. Most of the deserts lie in torrid zone(23½°N to 23½°S) and are generally cut by an equator (0°).
