CAST IRON- HARD BUT BRITTLE FORM OF RAW IRON PRODUCED BY MELTING AND COOLING OF PIG IRON.CARBON CNOTENT OF CAST IRON IS 3% WHEREAS PIG IRON CONTAINS ABOUT 4%OF CARBON. :) ???????????????? IT SEEMS YOU HAVE LOT OF DOUBTS IN METALLURGY.REVISE IT PROPERLY KIRTI????

Pig iron- ( kacha loha) 4% carbon and various impurities,,,,,,,cast iron- pig iron + O2+ coke ( less 3% only) hard and brittle.

The iron obtained from blast furnace is called pig iron 'nd it contains 4% carbon &other impurities. Cast iron obtained by melting pig iron with scrap iron 'nd it contains 3% carbon. Thats all;
