Power of a lens is defined as the ability of the lens to converge the rays of light falling on it. Its SI unit is Dioptre (D) Lens A Focal length (f)= 40 P=1/f (in metres) =1/0.4 = +2.5 D Lens B Focal length (f)=-20 P=1/f(in m) =1/-0.2 =-5 D
