A well whose diameter is 4m , has been dug 18m deep and the earth dug out is used to form an embankment 8m wide around it . Find the height of the embankment ?

Volume of earth dugged out will be equal to the volume of embankment formed.

r = 2, h = 18
Earth Dug volume = pi*r2*h . . .(1)

h' = height of embankment
Volume of embankment = pi*102*h' - pi*r2*h' . . .(2)

(1) = (2)

pi*r2*h = pi*102*h' - pi*r2*h'

2*2*18 = 10*10*h' - 2*2*h'

h'*96 = 12*6

h' = 0.75 m
