Features of nation state that emerged in Europe in 20th century:
(a) Disintegration of the ottoman empire with european subject nationalities breaking up and declaring their independence
(b)this period witnessed intense rivalry and formation of groups among nation states over trade and colonies as well as over naval and military might.one can give example of the first and second world war in this century
(c)the idea of nation state became well accepted and endorsed in colonies who waged an anti imperial struggle and led movements for independent nation states in the colonies.
