a) Macroelements (Macronutrients or Major elements): Those element which are required in large quantities are called macronutrients.
b) Microelements (Micronutrients or Minor element or Trace element): Those element which are required in small quantities are called microelement or trace element.
Macronutrients: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), sulfur (S), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na) .
Micronutrients (or trace minerals): boron (B), chlorine (Cl), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni). and cobalt (Co)
