example of negative feedback mechanism. The condition of the body's temperature is the information fed back to the brain, which is the controller. If the temperature is high, the body sweats in order to cool down. Since the process of sweating is done to stop the temperature change, this is a negative feedback mechanism example of positive feedback mechanism. When a part of the body is injured, it releases chemicals that activate blood platelets. Platelets are responsible for stopping bleeding by forming clots. An activated platelet in turn activates more platelets, which group together to form a blood clot.

An example of positive feedback loop is the onset of contractions in childbirth. When contraction begins, the hormone oxytocin is released into the body to stimulate further contractions. As for the negative feedback loop, an example is the regulation of blood glucose levels. If blood glucose levels continue to rise it may result in diabetes. In fact, there are many biologic processes that use negative feedback to maintain homeostasis or dynamic equilibrium.
