let the speed of stream X kilometre per hour therefore speed in upstream will x km per. and stream in downstream will be equals to 18 + x km per. time taken to go upstream = to distance upon speed will be equal to 24 upon (18-x) hours. similarly time taken to go downstream will be equals to 24 upon 18 - X hours. ATQ: (24/18-x) - (24/18+x) = 1 24(18 + x) - 24(18-x) = (18-x)(28+x) x square+ 48x-324 using quadratic formula x=-48+ under root48 square + 1296 -48 + 60 6
