1.Soap are sodium or potassium salt of long chain of fatty acids. 2.Most dirt is oily in nature so it does not dissolve in water. 3.Ionic emd of soap dissolve in water while the carbon chain dissolve in water. 4.Thus, soap form structure called micelle where one end of the molecule is towards oil while the ionic end faces towards. 5.This form an emulsion in water which when agitated with excess of water gets remove from the clothes.
