It happend due to dispersion of sunlight when sunlight pass through a raindrop the sunlight split in to diff colours rain drop act as prism it is formed after formation of rain

The rainbow is formed in the sky when the sun is shining and it is raining at same time . A rainbow is produced by dispersion of white sunlight by raindrops in atmosphere . Each raindrop act as a tiny glass prism splitting the sunlight into spectrum.
