A wire of uniform cross section and length 'l' has a resistance of 16 ohm. It is cut into four equal parts. Each part is stretched uniformly to initial length and all four stretched parts are connected in parallel. Calculate the total resistance of the combination so formed. New resistance of each wire will be r= n^2R R=4. (16/4) Wire should be 4 times strectched so n=4 r=4×4×4=64 Net resistance=64/4 =16
