The causes for the fall of the Jacobin Government in France were as follows :

  1. Robespierre headed the Jacobin Government and he followed a policy of severe control and punishment. This made people against the Jacobin Government.

  2. A maximum ceiling was fixed on wages and prices. Rationing of essential food items was introduced, causing hardships to the people due to which people disliked the government.

  3. Churches were shut down and converted into barracks or offices, causing resentment in the clergy.

All these led to the fall of the Jacobin Government.
