Structures which have a common basic structure but perform different functions are called homologous structures, e.g., forelimbs of reptiles, amphibians and mammals. Yes, they have common ancestor but variously modified to carry out different activities.

Homogenous has similar structure and different functions like mammals they have four limbs as their structure are same and perform different functions like birds, reptiles, etc
