Both netle plant and ant inject methanoic acid which can be nuitralise on rubbing a mild base like baking soda or any other base. When acid rain falls on the surface of lake or other water body it lower the ph of river too much that it becomes very difficult to live in such a acidic area for aquatic animals like fish and càn even kill those animals. The soil with ph 4.5 should be treated with caco3 because it is a basic salt which nuitralises the acidic effect of soil.
