*in acetone ch3coch3 there are 2 methyl groups present that adds +I effect and increases e- density on carbonyl carbon .futher that carbon is sterically hindered to attack of nucleuphiles so nucleophilic addition are difficult. *In case of ethanal ch3cho there is no such hinderance or noticable +I effect thus nucleophilic addition are done.

Due to steric and electronic reasons aldehydes are more reactive than ketones towards nucleophilic substitution reaction. Thus ethanal is more reactive than acetone
