The answer is YES, because if there would be no equality among the people and their representatives there would be instability in the Govt., Hence, this type of country couldn't be called a democracy.
In a democracy everyone should be equal, have same rights.
In a democracy no one is higher and no one is lower every one equal and should have same opportunities to exceed.
People choose their representatives in a democracy according to their choice and their representatives should work for the sake of the people.
There should be no hierarchy or dictatorship, the system should be transparent and everyone should have equal rights.
