The three main features of Kharif crop are:

1. Rabi crops are grown with the onset of monsoon and harvested in September- October.

2. Paddy, jowar, maize, and bajra are examples of Rabi crop.

3. These crops receive rain from southwest monsoon winds.

The Kharif crop is the autumn harvest (also known as the summer or monsoon crop). Kharif crops are usually sown with the beginning of the first rains in July and harvested in September/October. For example, Paddy, maize etc.
