8x+7y/xy=15 and 7x-2y/xy=5 8x+7x=15 and 7x-2x=5 15x=15 and 5x=5 x=1 and x=1 Putting x=1 in eq.(1) 8x+7y/xy=15 8x+7y=15xy 8×1+7y=15×1×y 8+7y=15y 8=15y-7y 8=8y y=1 Hence x=1 and y=1 .
