Mendleev classified elements according to the increasing order of their atomic masses. So I think the answer is option ( a ) .

I've checked it and I am also confused about this. Actually it is the question of sample paper given by cbse and the answer given is option (c)

Parishi Thada 6 years ago

I think it is (a) because Mendeleev classified them in eight groups and seven periods and there is no such option. I suggest you to please check the question one more time because in his table elements are arranged in increasing order of atomic mass.
